Ryan Olson ND, CMT
is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor in the State of California also holding certifications in craniosacral therapy and massage therapy. He obtained his degree of Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University, an accredited four year naturopathic medical school. There he studied the basic medical sciences, multiple modalities of healing including physical manipulation, hydrotherapy, homeopathy, herbal medicine, nutrition, biofeedback and pharmaceuticals.
He spent his undergraduate training at Sonoma State University where and obtained a B.S. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics.
His interest in treating the root cause of disease through the least force necessary lead him to seek out additional training during medical school in homeopathy, craniosacral therapy, chiropractic techniques, and massage therapy. When the patient allows, he favors this least force necessary approach teaching the patient to listen to their body so that through prevention and practiced treatment, the doctor isn’t needed for every ailment.
He also spent a focused series of clinical rotations on Biofeedback and it’s use on PTSD, hypertension, anxiety and stress, gastrointestinal issues, headaches, tinnitus, fatigue, sleep problems, and tremors to name a few. He was a part of clinical research and presented at the Annual Scientific Meeting for the Association of Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback Inc.
What I provide to my patients:
I am invested in helping people help themselves live healthier happier lives. My goal is to help you find your unique path to health by addressing chronic and acute conditions rather than symptoms so that we as a team get to the root cause of your concerns. Mind-body medicine, diet and lifestyle, herbal medicine, homeopathy, biofeedback and craniosacral/therapeutic massage are some of my favorite modalities and if necessary, higher force interventions like supplements, pharmaceuticals, and IV therapy can be used. Labwork, if needed, will be ordered and interpreted through our office as we use many eclectic lab companies that offer insight into pathology that traditional lab companies may not.
My passions, interests, favorite healing modalities:
A natural, inside to outside healing philosophy is paramount and we will treat the root cause so as to limit and/or eliminate your symptoms. I enjoy playing roles of both teacher and student; as a doctor it is important to remember that there is a time for both of these and that each of us is master of our own bodymind. Nature Cure (Vis Medicatrix Naturae) is a huge part of my life and I try to instill and empower my natural healing through exercise outdoors, surfing, rock climbing, cycling and taking my dogs running!
